Learning Key Tutoring is a local, dynamic team of educators making a difference in the lives of Denver’s students. Special Educators

Learning Key Tutoring is seeking current Colorado Certified Special Educators to work with students on IEPs in private schools within DPS's boundaries. Academic Coaches will work 1:1 with elementary students in grades 1-5 in reading for 1 hour, twice a week. The primary reading curriculum is the Wilson Reading System which will be provided to all coaches. All tutoring is completed within regular school hours. In addition, coaches will administer Dibels Next to progress monitor all students.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Current, Colorado Certified Special Educator.
  • Experience teaching with the Wilson Reading System or Orton Gillingham programs.
  • Ability to administer and interpret results of DIBELS Next.
  • Ability to help transfer concepts and ideas onto paper using diverse teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets.
  • Ability to build trusting, confidential relationships with students, families and school staff.
  • Access to the internet.
  • Available during regular school hours.

Academic Tutor

Academic Coaches/Tutors will work 1:1 with elementary, middle and/or high school students across a variety of subjects. These part-time positions will take place in the students’ homes or libraries on weekdays and occasional weekends. Most students see their coaches twice a week. Applicants must be available during after school hours (afternoons/evenings) 2-3 days per week.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • Experience working with elementary, middle and/or high school students.
  • Expertise and experience tutoring in subject matter (Math, Reading, Writing, ACT/SAT, Foreign Language).
  • Ability to help transfer concepts and ideas onto paper using diverse teaching strategies.
  • College degree required.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and families.
  • Access to the internet.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Available a minimum of 3 afternoons/evening a week.
