Elementary Teacher / Special Educator

April moved from Vermont to Colorado to obtain her Master’s in Special Education and fell in love.  She specialized in reading/language arts and elementary mathematics.

She is highly trained in instruction and uses a variety of methods to teach including The Wilson Reading System.   She has been teaching students with special learning needs for over 30 years, and has loved every year.  Her greatest gift as a teacher is to bear witness to the joy students experience as they progress academically,  and to see their confidence blossom as they accomplish more than they imagined they could.   “It is empowering for us both!”  

Outside of teaching, she enjoys learning new things, gardening, skiing, teaching yoga and anything that gets her to the mountains.
