Ed Sweeney
Special Educator
Ed Sweeney has been a Special Educator with his Master Degree from UNC for over a decade and has worked primarily in Denver and Aurora Public School Districts. He has worked in Title 1 schools and has enjoyed the professional challenges and opportunities these schools bring.
Additionally he received his undergraduate degree in Social Work at Colorado State University and has worked with adults with cognitive disabilities. As a Case Manager he worked in the area of employment assistance (teaching individuals how to work and how to function in their community). For the past 14 years, his family has been a host home to two persons with cognitive disabilities who have since become an integral and vital part of his extended family.
Ed is a proud father of 4 incredibly brilliant children (2 girls and 2 boys!) and married to an equally incredible woman! He is a native of Denver who enjoys riding his bike, hiking, walking around downtown, and learning how to play and collect vintage guitars as well as music (Vinyl, Cds, cassettes, well most any kind!)
Ed enjoys being able to teach and watch as struggling students overcome difficulties and begin their successful journey in academics. Beyond that, he highly values the relationships formed with his student and their families as the most satisfying part of his job that keeps him coming back each year.
